The 23-year-old forward most recently played for the Canton Charge, the G-League affiliate of the Cleveland Cavaliers.

Through his 23 games with the Charge this season, he averaged 15.5 points, 7.8 rebounds, 1.6 assists and 1.5 blocks in 28.9 minutes per game. He was the third leading scorer for Canton, who were 9-14 in the games he played with the team.

Prior to playing in the G-League, Bonzie Colson spent four years playing at Notre Dame where he was a primary piece of their offense.

In his final season with Notre Dame, he averaged 19.7 points and 10.1 rebounds per game. Unfortunately, he suffered from a broken foot that required surgery, leaving him with a string of what if’s ahead of the 2018 NBA Draft. Thankfully, though, Colson has found his way to the NBA despite going undrafted.

For Milwaukee, this is a low-risk move that will allow them to monitor Colson while he plays with their G League team, the Wisconsin Herd. It is likely that Bonzie will see some playing time with the Bucks as they tinker with lineups in the second half of the season prior to the playoffs.

If Colson is able to develop into a reliable perimeter shooter, then he could possibly earn regular minutes over players like Sterling Brown or D.J. Wilson.
